Biography

Jesse Holzer is a research scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His work focuses on optimization modeling and algorithms, with applications to electric power systems and freight and passenger transportation. His expertise is in mixed integer programming, including developing and implementing custom decomposition algorithms and heuristics for challenging optimization problems.

Research Interests

  • Optimization modeling and algorithms: linear/integer/nonlinear/stochastic programming, complementarity systems.
  • Power systems applications of optimization: unit commitment, optimal power flow.
  • Transportation applications of optimization: vehicle routing, freight transport, ride pooling, traffic equilibrium.
