Biography

Andy Fisher came to the PNNL in 2009 as an intern. He joined Electricity Infrastructure in 2013 as an SE1. He has over 8 years of experience in Electricity Infrastructure. Project areas have included development of analytical models of distribution systems, transactive energy systems, cross discipline co-simulation platform development, and advanced distribution management systems. He has been a main developer for GridLAB-D, a next-generation distribution system simulation tool, for his entire career. He has been involved in the development and study of co-simulation platforms for the past 5 years culminating in two co-simulation tools, FNCS and HELICS. Most recently he has been applying his knowledge of co-simulation to help build a transactive energy systems platform called TESP, which allows the study and evaluation of transactive energy control systems on distribution and transmission systems. He has also been applying co-simulation to an advanced distribution management system platform called GridAPPS-D.
