Siddharth Sridhar joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2014. His primary research areas include cyber and cyber-physical security for smart grid & buildings. In addition, he also has interest and background in the areas of distribution system operation, data analytics and cyber-physical testbeds. At PNNL, he is currently involved in the development of secure communications between control centers and data-analytics driven cyber attack detection in buildings-to-grid control applications. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, where the focus of his thesis was on building attack-resilient Automatic Generation Control for the bulk power system and developing a risk analysis framework for coordinated cyber attacks on transmission infrastructure. His work experience also includes internships at ABB Corporate Research Center, Switzerland, where he worked on cybersecurity for industrial control devices, and GE Global Research Center, India, where he worked on wide-area monitoring applications for the bulk power system.
